Be mine for now

With one ear all I hear is the static blocking out the world.
And with the other, I hear you talking to me in the crowded room
Your voice is a wispier across the table.
You always start a serious conversation with a laugh.
Then you say, “I guess the term in one ear and out the other is kind of impossible right now.”
You always make my worse days to be the best days through a year.
You always said, “Even if we were famous or not, we would still be the same people
Who live by their own standards than anyone else’s and live up to what makes us happy,
we don’t live by titles that people use .. We are just us..
Nothing more and nothing less”.
You look at me with those eyes and smile then lastly say
“Be mine for now and I am not going to say forever, because we have now; in this moment. Black and white, I just might be your knight. There is one way to find out so, would you take the chance to be mine right now”.
I looked in those eyes once more and said,
“I thought you wanted to be forever but I will take each day if we continue”.
I looked down to my hand and you started to write.
“ I want you for now & many years to come from this second”.
And completed those words written with a heart around it.
I smiled and that was it, I was yours.
